Message Read Receipts Feature

What are message read receipts?

  • Message read receipts are available to Platinum & Diamond subscribers. This feature lets you know when the recipient has opened your message.
  • Read receipts apply to new and previously sent messages (not just those sent after upgrading to Platinum or Diamond).

How do I know if my Messages have been opened?

  1. Go to your Matches and open a message thread.
  2. Look for the status below each message:
    • "Read" (in grey text) with a timestamp means the message has been opened.
    • "Delivered" (in grey text) means the message was delivered but not yet opened.
    • On the Match app, you’ll see "Sent" instead of "Delivered." This means the message was sent successfully, but hasn’t been opened.

Note:

  • On the app, you’ll see a read receipt for every message you send.
  • On the web version, you'll only see the read receipt for your most recent message in each thread.

Will other Match members know when I opened a Message from them?

  • If the member who sent the Message has a Platinum or Diamond membership, they’ll know when you open their Messages.
