Canceling a Match Subscription
You can cancel your subscription, free trial, or add-on features via Manage Subscription in your account settings on the app, mobile web, or desktop. Canceling a subscription turns off auto-renewal, while canceling add-ons stops them from renewing at the next billing cycle. To delete your membership entirely, cancel your account—your profile and photos will be hidden, but your data is retained per our Privacy Policy.

1. Canceling a Subscription (Desktop or App Store)
Desktop
To cancel your subscription/ turn off auto-renewal, click here or watch the video below for step-by-step instructions from your desktop.
Note: If you cancel a Platinum subscription, you won’t be able to downgrade to Silver or Bronze at this time.
App Store
iOS App (via Apple)
If you subscribed through Apple, follow these steps on your iPhone:
- Open the App Store
- Tap your profile icon (top right)
- Tap Subscriptions
- Tap Cancel Subscription
- Tap Confirm

2. Canceling Add-On Features (e.g., Private Mode)
You can cancel individual features without canceling your full subscription. These features will simply not renew at your next billing cycle.
On the Match App
- Log in and tap the Profile icon
- Tap the gear icon
- Go to Manage Account > Manage Subscription
- Enter your password
- Tap Subscription Status
- Find the feature and tap Deactivate
- Confirm by tapping Yes, if prompted
On Desktop
- Log in and click the gear icon
- Click Manage Subscription
- Enter your password
- Click Subscription Status
- Click Deactivate next to the feature
- Confirm if prompted
On Mobile Web
- Log in and tap the Profile icon
- Tap the gear icon
- Tap Manage Account > Manage Subscription
- Tap Subscription Status
- Tap Deactivate next to the feature
- Confirm if prompted
Note:
- After canceling, the feature stays active until its end date.
- The “Deactivate” link will change to “Reactivate” if you wish to re-enable the feature.
- These steps cancel only add-ons, not your main subscription.
3. Canceling a Free Trial
To avoid being charged after your free trial:
- Visit Manage Subscription in your Account Settings
- Re-enter your password
- Complete all steps to cancel
Note that canceling a free trial immediately ends your access.
You can turn your trial back on before it ends, but auto-renewal will also be re-enabled.
4. Canceling Your Membership / Account
If you're not subscribed—or already turned off auto-renewal—you can cancel your membership:
- Log in to your account
- Go to Manage Subscription in Account Settings
- Choose to cancel your membership
After Canceling:
- Your profile and photos are hidden.
- Reactivate your account at any time by signing in.
- Your data is retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
