Messages – How to Chat with Your Matches

All of our free members are now able to chat with every match! Once you match with someone, you can message each other directly.

Reading Messages

You can view and respond to messages from the Matches or Likes tabs in the top navigation bar on Desktop.

From the Likes Tab:

• Messages from unmatched members appear in your Likes tab.
• Tap the members profile photo to see a message preview.
• Tap the message preview to open and reply.
  
  

From the Matches Tab:

• Subscribers will see new match notifications with a number bubble.
• Tap the Matches icon to view new messages.
• New/unread messages are bold. Tap Your Turn to reply.

• If no message has been sent yet, you may see:

  • “She/He Liked You”

  • “You Liked Him/Her”

  • “You’re a Match”
    
    Tap to send a message.

Responding to Messages

• On the website: Tap the blue speech bubble to message a member.
• On the app: Tap the member’s profile to reply.
• In the Likes tab: Click on the member’s profile page, and then tap the grey text bubble. A text box will appear at the bottom to respond.
• In the Matches tab: Tap the profile of the member, then type your reply in the space at the bottom of the thread.
• Important: Messages can’t be unsent, recalled, or retracted once sent.

Special Notes for NY, NJ, CT, TX, and OK Residents

• You can message for free with all Mutual Matches.

• If you like someone and they like you back, either member can start the conversation for free.

Free members also receive curated profiles that match your preferences, and we believe could be great matches for you.
